4-H Club Welcomes You!
Christmas at the Farm is December 23
On Friday, December 23, King County 4-Hers will grant a holiday wish for children from Hope Place, a shelter for women and children. The shelter is operated by Seattle's Union Gospel Mission. The kids will be treated to pony/horse rides, a petting zoo, crafts, lunch and a very special visit from Santa. Rumor has it, he'll be arriving in a shiny red fire truck!
Lots of volunteers will be needed to ensure a safe, fun event. If you can, please bring a can of soup for the volunteer lunch. We will also be collecting new and gently used coats, gloves and hats as well as new socks for the kids.
The event is at a different farm this year -- Winter Creek. It is just off Highway 169 about five blocks north of Krain Korner. Activities will begin at 10 a..m. and be finished by around 2 p.m. If you need a ride to the event, please let Kim or Dawn know so we can coordinate carpools. We hope to have a great turnout from our Mounted Mischief family. You can download the event flyer for more information.
Don't Miss Our Annual Club Christmas Party
Members, families, friends and alumni are invited to our club Christmas party on December 22. It will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Giglio's in Covington. Seniors should bring a main dish to share. Intermediates will bring side dishes and Juniors will bring desserts. Members can participate in a gift exchange by bringing an item ($10 or less). Gift exchange items do not have to be horse related. Adults will do an ornament exchange. These activities can get a little wild when the "stealing" begins, but a fun time is had by all.
At last year's Christmas party, we made gift bags for the children of Union Gospel Mission's Hope Place. This year we will assemble gift bags for the moms at the shelter.
Lexie was one of the many volunteers at last year's event.
